Employees & Employment

The Adventure Club staff members are the backbone of the program.  There is one site supervisor at each of the three sites after school sites, as well as three to four group leaders.  The University of Idaho also provides two to three work study students per site.  Funding for the UI work study students is provided by America Reads.

The Adventure Club Management Team

  • David Pierce-Garnett, Adventure Club Director since 2002.  David has a background in psychology, neuroscience, natural resource management, and business management with many years spent working in outdoor and urban youth leadership positions.  He is excited about new opportunities provided by current challenges, as well as working with a fresh batch of enthusiastic and skilled Site Supervisors.  He feels honored to work with 5-year-olds to 100-year-olds in this job, and aims to provide the students and staff with a nurturing and enriching experience.

  • Hailey Ward, McDonald Adventure Club Site Supervisor.  Hailey, a senior at the University of Idaho, is studying Elementary Education with an emphasis in Literacy.  She grew up in a military family, moving from state to state and overseas, but settled in Lewiston in 2012 when her father retired.  She grew up admiring her teachers and the classroom setting.  There was no doubt in her mind when she decided to study Elementary Education.  Hailey is a College of Education Ambassador in her sorority.  She has worked for the Adventure Club for two years, and is beyond excited for what this year holds for the program.  She is looking forward to working with the Adventure Club's staff and participants.

  • Zach Watson, Russell Adventure Club Site Supervisor.  Zach moved to Moscow in the first grade, and is currently a junior at the University of Idaho studying Nursing.  He has been with the Adventure Club program for two years and enjoys spending his free time learning photography, playing guitar, and being outdoors.   Zach serves as the Community Service Chair for his fraternity, and is passionate about helping others.

  • Jeremiah Nealon, Lena Adventure Club Site Supervisor.  Jeremiah has lived in Moscow for 17 years after earning a Philosophy degree from Washington State University.  When not at Adventure Club, he can be found running and cycling on the trails in and around the city.  Jeremiah recently dove into the world of coffee roasting.  He has two elementary aged children, and is passionate about creating safe spaces for kids.
