The District supports the rights of individuals to run for and serve in public office, however; limited financial resources and the manner in which schools receive staffing allocations are prohibitive to granting this request if a situation were created which resulted in two individuals receiving pay for one position. The Board supports teachers serving in public office as long as qualified and suitable long-term substitutes can be employed.
