Purpose: The purpose of the Calendar Committee is to develop school year calendar options for the Moscow School District. After completion of the calendars, the options are presented to individual building staffs for rationale and recommendations. The calendar options, along with rationale and recommendations are then presented to the Board of Trustees on or before the regular March meeting.
Meetings: By October the committee meets to develop calendar options and staff recommendations for the next school year. The committee considers Idaho Code, State Board of Education regulations, and other local considerations when developing calendars. The committee also provides tentative calendars for future years.
Membership: The Calendar Committee is composed of the Superintendent or his/her designee, two teachers, one classified staff person, and one Trustee appointed by the Board Chair. The Committee Chair also asks for a building representative from each building when asking for recommendations on the calendar options.
