The district shall provide free and reduced price meals to students according to the terms of the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. The Student Nutrition Supervisor and/or administration shall inform parents of the eligibility standards for free or reduced price meals. District personnel shall make reasonable efforts to protect the identity of students receiving such meals. A parent has the right to appeal any decision with respect to his/her application for free or reduced price food services to the Student Nutrition Supervisor.
In the operation of the child meal programs, no child will be discriminated against because of race, color, sex, religion, age, birth, ancestry, national origin, family relationship, personal or political patronage, or handicap. Anyone who believes he/she is a victim of discrimination or believes another person is a victim of discrimination should immediately report it to a school official.
