Air Quality: Up in Smoke
As you know we are currently having air quality issues in the region due to the forest fires nearby. We will be taking precautionary measures as prescribed by the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) for the safety of your children at school during these periods of poor air quality.
If the air quality is in the upper range of the Moderate level students may have a reduced amount of time outdoors during recess (Air Quality Index AQI of 51-100). When the air quality reaches the level of Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups or higher (AQI is at a level of 101 or higher) students will be held indoors during recess. We also ask that you consider driving your child to school if their walking time takes longer than 10 minutes when the air quality is above 100.
If your child has any medical issues that you believe will be affected by the air quality, please be sure to notify the office personnel at your child’s school immediately if you have not already done so. For further information or updates on our areas air quality forecast, click on the site below.
