Next Tuesday, Sept. 19, is a special day for you. It’s our annual Respect & Responsibility Field Day! Be prepared for a day of challenging team-building exercises and fun games. Here’s the vital information you need to know.
1.Wear sneakers/closed-toe shoes instead of sandals or flip flops.
2.PACK A LUNCH or reserve a sack lunch from the cafeteria by letting Rissi in the kitchen know you need one in the next 2 days.
3.Dress appropriately for the weather. We will be outside all day long, so choose your attire accordingly. Ladies, please feel comfortable to wear pants or shorts instead of a dress or skirt for this event.
4.You will be assigned to a small group that will meet with a teacher before we leave MMS for attendance. Small group lists will be posted around the school by Thursday.
Please remember that safety is the highest concern and bringing inappropriate items to school can result in expulsion from the Moscow School District. Knives and/or any item that could be considered a weapon are specifically prohibited from any Moscow School District campus. Please check backpacks, pockets, etc at home each day to ensure that any such item does not come to school. –Mr. Hill and Mr. Henderson
Attention 7th graders who had Mrs. Wallen last year! I have lots of pen pal letters from Finland left! Please come get them, a few have treats attached! Not sure if you have one? Come check!
Tech Under Ground will be meeting again on Thursday from 3:15-4:00 in Room 01. Come on down and continue working in our CS-First Social Media Club. Be sure to get here early – only have room for 30! If you have any questions check with Mrs. Lynn in Room 01. See you there 😊
Are you up for a challenge and like to problem solve? Do you like to work in small groups? Do you like using Sim City, or writing essays, or building cities of the future? Then the Future City competition is for you! Teams are now forming. If you’re interested, then come to room 120 (Mrs. Lawton’s room) after school next Monday, September 18, to find out more details. I hope to see you there! Mrs. Lawton.
Calling all students interested in public speaking, current issues, and widening their intellectual horizons: Moscow Middle School’s Debate Club is well underway! This club meets on Wednesdays during first lunch in room 209 (Mrs. Harker’s room). Debate Club is looking for students that are intrigued by the art of problem solving, discussion, and of course, the power of argument! For any questions that you may have, please see Mrs. Harker or Defne Yuksel. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting! We plan on beginning the debate process next week, so if you do not come to the meeting this week, we ask that you wait until the next round.
Game Geeks and Chess Club are back! There are two available times: Wednesdays at 7:30am in Mr. Foss’s room (204), or Wednesdays after school in Mrs. Harker’s room (209). Bring a game you’d like to play, or just come along and play what others have brought! All are welcome.
From the Library: Come join us for Illusions, Puzzles, and Mysteries. We have puzzles, maze balls, and strategy games. If you are feeling artistic, try your hand at creating a Tessellation. We are featuring books on magic, illusions, and lateral thinking. The featured fiction genre is Mystery. The activities are available before school and at lunch, so grab a library pass and join the fun. Mrs. Schiweck and Mrs. Watson
