SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM AT UNIVERSITY OF WYOMING
Summer Bridge is a four-week program that runs from July 23rd to August 18th this year. All incoming University of Wyoming freshman are welcome to apply, but priority will be given to those students whose ACT math scores don’t qualify them to start college in a math course appropriate for their major.
Summer Bridge strives to not only challenge students academically, but to also connect them to Laramie as a community outside of the university. Freshman students are often times leaving home for the first time, which can be incredibly stressful. Summer Bridge is an incredible opportunity for students to create a sense of belonging that will make their transition to the University of Wyoming a positive and welcoming experience.
Our first two summers were greatly successful. The following feedback from students is a testament to this success:
“It was a great way to make new friends, and to develop relationships with people on campus. It helped me adjust to a more rigorous academic lifestyle, and I feel better prepared for the fall.”
“I loved the teachers and the program. I really knew how to succeed in college after the bridge, and I had a blast”
The website for Summer Bridge can be found at www.uwyo.edu/step/bridge and has more information as well as a link to the application.
